REST AND BE THANKFUL

There is a gully near the top of the Rest And Be Thankful that has the bases of two huts and a few remains of the walls.  It is near the junction of the B828 and A83, just below the Vodafone Base Station.

The original alignment of the main road was much closer to this point (see CANMAP where the line of the old track can be seen).  Presumably this was either some sort of check point or defensive point.

Nearby is the base of a Spigot Mortar.
